Pamela Rickard
Pam Rickard serves as the Development and Engagement Coordinator for Learn to Cope, bringing both professional expertise and deeply personal experience to her work supporting families affected by substance use disorder. Since beginning her own recovery journey in April 2006, Pam has become a passionate advocate for recovery, resilience, and hope. For more than a decade, she has dedicated her career and volunteer efforts to helping individuals, families, and communities find connection, support, and their own paths to healing and wellness. A graduate of Ohio University with a degree in journalism and marketing, Pam brings extensive experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, communications, relationship building, and community engagement. Pam is also an accomplished endurance athlete, having completed more than 95 marathons and 50 ultramarathons, many in support of individuals and families affected by addiction. Running has become a powerful expression of the life recovery has given her. As Pam says, “I don’t run to stay sober. I get to run because I am sober.” Pam lives in Southwest Virginia with her husband of 40 years. Together, they have three adult children and their spouses, two incredible grandsons, and a precious granddaughter.
